OJSC «Gomel Chemical Plant» is the only phosphorous fertilizers producer in the Republic of Belarus.
The company specializes in manufacture of phosphorous fertilizers (ammophos, ammoniated superphosphate and nitrogen phosphor potassium fertilizers), sulfuric acid (of technical, accumulator and enhanced grades), aluminum fluoride, cryolite, aerosil, sodium sulfite of photo and technical grades, crop protection agents a.o.
The company produces above 30 types of products many of which meet the quality specification of foreign analogues.
Specific grades of fertilizers containing all primary nutrients are elaborated for Belarusian soils.
OJSC «Gomel Chemical Plant» is in permanent cooperation with scientific institutions including fruitful collaboration with OJSC “NIUIF”/ОАО «НИУИФ» belonging to “Phosagro” chemical holding.
2009 the Company elaborated the Development Program for 2010-2015 years. In accordance with the Program the modernization of the main mineral fertilizer and acids production facilities is in progress.
2009 there were developed and introduced, at DSS, technical solutions on optimization of operation and hardware of drying, granulation, sizing, crushing, cooling, coating and gas cleaning during NPK output; revamp of drum-granulator-drying unit (DGD/БГС) was implemented for production of NP and NPK fertilizers in DSS; 2011 the option of introducing potassium chloride into process was realized resulting in possibility of NPK fertilizers output, and the batch of NРК fertilizers of 6:24:12 grade was manufactured.
2009 at GAS, there was installed anticaking agent feeding unit with coating drum aimed at enhancing of fertilizers usability; 2011 there was realized the project of urea introduction into the process to yield 16:16:16 grade, pilot batch being produced;
In 2010 APCS was installed; in 2011 there was implemented the project «SAS-2 revamp aimed at steam generation increase» stipulating erection of additional stages of economizer and superheater which gave increase in high potential steam output along with increase in generation of domestic electric power by 15 per cent.
In 2010 the project «Reconstruction of phosphoric acid shop with capacity increase up to 230 ths. t 100% Р2О5» was executed at PAS/ ЦФК. Project was aimed at elimination of capacity disproportion between phosphoric acid production capacity and that of mineral fertilizers workshops, at stabilization of workshop operation and at ability of phosphorites processing.
In 2012 within the framework of the project (IV construction stage) there was installed 110 m2 belt vacuum filter to proceed with shop revamp: switch over to semihydrate operation with capacity increase, energy cost reduction and yield of phosphogypsum admissible in the manufacture of construction materials.
Since 2013 the project “Reconstruction of the second branch of phosphoric acid shop with capacity increase up to 220 thousand ton of 100% Р2О5 a year and switch over to semihydrate production mode has been in progress, lead time 2014.
The Program of OJSC «Gomel chemical plant» development for 2011-2015 years and development concept up to 2020 also include projects of opening two low-tonnage chemistry production lines such as:
- magnesium sulfate manufacture. The goal of the given project is the production of the new, for both the Company and Belarus, commodity – water soluble crystalline heptahydrate magnesium sulfate from domestic raw material. The principal users of magnesium sulfate in Belarus are hothouse facilities, those in Baltic countries are farmers engaged in crops and winter rape cultivation. Project lead time is 2015 year.
- manufacture of Pilaround Extra herbicide (2014 year). Pilaround Extra is non-selective herbicide. The commodity represents SL of 550 g/l glyphosate acid as an active substance. The company sales own products in Russian market, that of CIS, Eastern Europe, Baltic countries. Principal importing countries are: Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Romania, Czechia , Moldova, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria a.o. Sales policy of the company is aimed at the development of the existing market with simultaneous search of new market outlets.
Thus, in 2009 the Company entered the new market in the following countries: Georgia, Italy, Austria, Germany, and Serbia. Along with modernization of the plant the staff permanently works at product quality enhancement; annually, measures for improving of commodity usability are elaborated. Thus, in 2006 there was introduced and certified the Quality management system, as per requirements of СТБ ISO 9001-2001, for manufacture of anhydrous sodium sulfite and mineral nitrogen-phosphor-potassium fertilizers. Shortly re-certification of the Quality management system is planned for National conformity system.
In 2008 OJSC “Gomel chemical plant” certified the NPK manufacture quality management system as for correspondence to the ISO 9001, the occupational safety management system to be in compliance with OHSAS 18001, environmental management system for compliance with ISO 14001.
In 2009 QMS was extended to manufacturing of all mineral fertilizers.
From the very beginning and nowadays the Company permanently improves technological processes thereby contributing significantly to the development of domestic petrochemical industry. The company is the permanent participant of the «Best commodity» contest held at Belarus. In 2008 OJSC “Gomel chemical plant” was the contest awardee.
